Born in Espinho, Rochinha split his formative years between FC Porto and SL Benfica, although he had fleeting spells at CD Feirense and Boavista FC. A young international for Portugal at the under-17 and under-19 levels, between 2015 and 2016 he had two experiences abroad, at Bolton (England) and Standard de Liège (Belgium), then returning to Boavista, where he made his debut in the Portuguese top flight.

Signed from Vitória SC, Rochinha arrives this season at Sporting CP, with a contract that lasts until 2026. To the club’s media, he said that this was the right step in his career, showing immense happiness for belonging to this team and this lions pride.
