The coach looks ahead to the meeting with Vitória SC

Sporting Clube de Portugal travel to the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques, home of Vitória SC, this Monday, to on Liga Portugal Matchday 29.

Ahead of the game, coach Rúben Amorim acknowledged that there was "disappointment" about the elimination from the Europa League at the hands of Juventus, but assured that the players "know what they have to do and are prepared for the game."

“The atmosphere in the dressing room is fine. Obviously we are very disappointed, but we played very well. Whether we're fourth or first in the table, there's work to do and a way to play. We're going to play that way tomorrow and I'm sure we're going to perform well," he began by saying.

“We are having more difficulties in getting the right results, but if we look at the last few games we have always played well and created chances. We have to improve our effectiveness. The group know that, we have work to do and we will do it well. The objective is to win all the games that remain until the end of the season."

“We'll have to push hard to see what happens at the end of the campaign, with our focus on the league now."

Amorim then assessed Vitória SC, a team who are seventh in the table and in the fight for European football next season.

“They are a team in need of points. Their coach is doing a great job. He is achieving results with young players from the youth team and this will be a very dangerous game; everyone knows what it is like to play in Guimarães."

Amorim will not be in the dugout due to a suspension for his expulsion against FC Arouca.

“I would love to be in this game accompanying the players, but it was my fault that I can't be there. They know that I'm always with them. I have to think about them and at this stage I should be pitchside, but we have prepared the game well. They know what to do and we're going to be strong in this game."

“The focus is on scoring goals and not conceding from the few opportunities we concede. Winning should be enough motivation. The 'all or nothing' game, for us, was with GD Chaves at home, as we were already five points off the top. It's been all or nothing for a long time now and that's one of the big problems. But that won't get into the minds of the players. They want to win every game, as they have wanted to up until now."
