This Privacy Policy regulates the treatment of website users personal data (hereinafter "User" or "Users"), collected during the usage of the website www.sporting.pt (hereinafter "Site"), by Sporting Clube de Portugal (hereinafter “Sporting” or “Club”) as the entity responsible for the data processing.

Providing your personal data implies knowledge and acceptance of the conditions contained in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is complemented by the Terms of Use available on the Site.

1. Collection and processing of personal data

Sporting Clube de Portugal’s website, and other sites regarding products and services with the presence of Sporting’s brand, belong to Sporting. The Site aims to disseminate relevant information about activities and news related to the Club, Sporting SAD and other companies part of Sporting Group, as well as the provision of services to its members, fans and the general public.

Accessing and navigating through the Site does not imply the provision of personal data by the User. However, the use of certain features of the Site implies the provision of personal data by the User.

Such data will be used by the Club for the following purposes:

  1. Managing the relationship with its members and fans;
  2. Providing online services: payment of dues, purchase of tickets, etc.;
  3. Contact request: personal data will be processed, with your consent, to manage the contact established and provide clarifications and information requested by the User;
  4. Subscription of updates: personal data will be processed, with your consent, with the purpose of sending communications and relevant information.

2. User Rights

Under the terms of the applicable legislation, namely the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, the User may request, at any time, access to personal data concerning him/her, as well as its rectification, deletion, limitation of its treatment, the portability of your data, or oppose its treatment.

The User will also be able to obtain confirmation that personal data concerning him/her is subject to treatment, being made available, if required, a copy of the data being processed.

Under the terms of the law, the User is also guaranteed the right, through these means, to withdraw his consent for the processing of data for the purposes indicated, however, not invalidating the treatment carried out up to that date based on having given prior consent..

3. Retention of personal data

The personal data collected is treated in strict compliance with the applicable legislation. Personal data will be kept in accordance with the respective purposes and respecting the applicable legal deadlines. Thus, and whenever there is no specific legal requirement, the data will be stored and preserved only for the appropriate period and to the extent necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless the right to oppose is exercised, within the legal limit to opposition, right to erase or if you withdraw consent.

4. Under what circumstances is there data communication to other entities?

Sporting may transmit your personal data:

a) When using other entities for the provision of certain services, since such provision of services may imply access, by these entities, to your personal data. Thus, any subcontracting entity of Sporting will treat your personal data, on behalf and on behalf of Sporting, under the strict obligation to follow our instructions and under the terms of the subcontracting agreement with the referred subcontracting entities;

b) To third parties, when deeming such data communications as necessary or appropriate (i) in the light of the applicable law, (ii) in the fulfillment of legal obligations / court orders, (iii) of deliberations or decisions of the control authorities or (iv) to respond to requests from public or government authorities.

In any of the situations mentioned above, Sporting will take all appropriate measures to guarantee the effective protection of personal data.

5. Security

Sporting makes its best efforts to protect Users' personal data from unauthorized access. For this purpose, it uses security systems, rules and other procedures, in order to guarantee the protection of personal data, as well as to prevent unauthorized access to data, improper use, disclosure, loss or destruction.

It is, however, the Users' responsibility to ensure that the devices and equipment used to access the Site are adequately protected against harmful software, computer viruses and worms.

6. Cookies

"Cookies" are small text files that identify the User's computer on Sporting's server. The cookies themselves do not identify the individual user, only the computer used. Cookies are not used to collect personal data.

This Site uses cookies that serve to help determine the usefulness, interest and number of accesses to the Site, allowing for faster and more efficient navigation of the Site, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter the same information. This privacy statement applies only to information collected on the Sporting website.

8. International data transfers

Sporting may transfer personal data to third party countries (outside the European Union or European Economic Area), within the scope of the purposes provided for in this Policy, for which there is no adequate decision adopted by the European Commission. In that case, Sporting proactively adopts the appropriate security measures to ensure the confidentiality and protection of personal data, under the terms of the applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.
